As a former national and sectional competitor in pairs and singles freestyle, Jacob’s coaching focuses on perfecting the execution of fundamentals for competitive figure skating. This incorporates presentation, speed and technical execution of all elements. Jacob specializes in teaching spins and jumps for higher-level skating. Jacob is also a gold medalist in Moves in the field, and assists beginners and intermediate skaters learn the required skills to take their Moves in the field tests.

During his own skating journey, Jacob found a lack of professionals who specialized in training figure skaters off-ice. His experience inspired him to specialize in exercise science and obtain an associate’s degree in exercise science and a bachelor’s degree in fitness and wellness. His education has further enhanced his ability to monitor his clients’ well-being and health and to improve their performance, beyond what is possible on the ice alone.

Jacob blends his education and raw experience to deliver technical lessons that teaches his students about skating and how they move their bodies. By further educating his students, Jacob hopes to prevent injury and promote growth in everyone Jacob works with so that every client may have a long, successful career in figure skating.

Jacob focuses on developing well-rounded skaters through instruction in Freestyle and Moves in the Field, while emphasizing strong technique, power, style, and overall form. He also incorporates off-ice training, including jump technique, strength, and conditioning, to enhance performance on the ice. Jacob’s approach blends technical precision with athletic development to help skaters reach their full potential.
